A MICA BFA candidate for 2025, Liel has worked on exciting projects ranging in medium from reed lanterns in a traditional Baltimore city parade, to filming and recording audio for an award-nominated independent documentary. Her past work in production includes assistant directing the SWIFF honorable mention recipient The Grand Trans-American Cornhole Quest (2022) and a solo project titled With Love: Portland, Oregon (2024).
During the summer of 2022, Liel acted as the assistant director, social media manager, cinematographer and audio engineer for the Student World Impact Film Festival honorable mention recipient, The Grand Trans-American Cornhole Quest (2023). She spent four weeks traveling across the country, camping, coordinating, and filming interviews with everyday Americans about national identity and the state of the country today.
Her first solo film, With Love: Portland, Oregon (2024), the first in a series of profiles on American cities, is centered around Portland, Oregon, and the people she met while couch surfing in the Pacific Northwest. Similar to her previous work on The Quest, Bergoffen sought to explore the identity of her location through meaningful conversations with locals.
Her work in production led her to a development internship at the Santa Monica based distribution company, Buffalo 8; during which she reviewed and provided feedback on scripts and screeners and assisted clients in putting together pitch decks for their individual projects.
A passionate Baltimore community member and citizen of the world, Bergoffen is a member of the art collective Baltimore Artists Against Apartheid, in which she uses her skills in project leadership as well as her talents in the visual arts to help coordinate projects in protest art, teach-ins, and fundraising events.
